Family Life
Family seems to be an evolving term these days, but to us, family is Father, Mother and children, together, as one unit, fully submitted to the authority of Jesus Christ. Since we are so passionate about our faith and passing on that legacy to our offspring, we have a lot to say about child rearing and family life. Even if you’re not “religious”, you may find many of our discussion points practical for raising virtuous, responsible, hardworking, children who are and will be productive in society.
The Farm Children
We could not and probably would not sustain this farm without the never ending help of our farm children. So you may hear from them occasionally. First, you must meet them:
Eldest Farm Girl recently graduated and is now working at the family business full-time. She loves hanging out with her siblings, reading and doing art. She creates beautiful pieces of art-work whenever she can.
Fam Son is the typical outside kind of boy. He doesn't mind to get his hands dirty and work hard. He is constantly working on some project for Eric. His hobby is anything to do with weapons; guns specifically. He loves reading about them and talking about them. (though none of us may be able to understand).
Farm girl 2 is outspoken and witty. She loves cracking jokes with her brother. She also enjoys anything craft related. She has done cross stitching, latch hooking, and sewing, to name a few.
Farm girl 3 is always busy, knows everything that’s going on, does everything in fast speed, and is very helpful around the house and on the farm. She is very caring and protective of her younger siblings. She has recently started playing the cello as well!
Farm girl 4 is our fashionista. She makes sure that her outfits and shoes match well. She also is very eager to care for the little ones. Farm girl 8, the youngest, is quite attached to her. Recently, she has started doing some painting and enjoys that as well.
Farm girl 5 is funny and loud. She always wants to be able to do whatever the big kids are doing. She bought the Shetland pony, Red Head, from her sister, and enjoys the times she is able to get her out and ride.
Farm girl 6, we like to say, is a mini Farm girl 2. They look similar and have similar personalities. She loves to play "dance," or "gymnastics" with her sisters. This summer, since we have gotten our new pool, she had begun to swim without water wings!
Farm girl 7 is an extremely outgoing, animal-loving girl. She is not shy of strangers, (unless she pretends to be) and will talk for as long as she has a listener. She loves all things animals as well as all things sparkly. She loves wearing jewelry and carries around lots of different stuffed animals.
Farm girl 8 is the toddler who is a very busy little lady. She is always into something, and keeps mom on her toes. She loves being included by her older sisters in activities, and the big words she says have us all cracking up. She has a big and funny personality.
Now that you have met all of the kids, keep an eye out for what they have to say and the things they help with around the farm!
